As a caring pet owner, you never want to see your pet in pain. Inflammatory conditions, age-related issues, and tissue scarring can make it difficult for your pet to get around and fully enjoy its life. If your pet is struggling to keep up the way he or she used to, K-laser therapy may be an excellent option to help ease your pet’s pain. At MVS Pet Care in Las Vegas our in-home veterinarian, Dr. Kerry C. Davis, provides K-laser therapy to helper reduce or eliminate pain for pets. Let's take a look at what K-laser therapy is, and how it may be used to benefit your pet.
What Is K Laser Therapy?
K-laser therapy is a non-invasive and painless treatment that can be used to treat your pet's inflammation. This treatment has been cleared by the FDA and is used to assist tissue regeneration in damaged areas. This means that the laser treatment helps hasten your pet’s natural bodily healing process, allowing it to reduce the inflammation at a faster rate than your pet’s body would be able to manage on its own.
The laser light that is used is not hot, meaning your pet will feel no pain during the procedure. The laser wand is guided over the affected area for up to 20 minutes. You may notice that your pet can rest more deeply after the treatment due to a reduction of pain. Your pet will likely be more physically active, as he or she is no longer dealing with as much pain caused by inflammation or an injury.
Is My Pet A Good Candidate?
For the vast majority of pets, K-laser therapy is a safe, effective option for treating pain. It's important to work closely with your veterinarian to decide whether K-laser therapy is the right choice for your pet. Certain health conditions do not lend themselves to k-laser treatment. Our veterinarian will talk with you about whether this treatment option is a good fit for your furry family member.
